I'm sure you're wondering why it's taken two years to update this page, but hey, not much has happened! Other than the snazzy top-of-page stuff, that is. Oh, and the Links page has been given the once-over, but that's an ongoing process.

As always, we're open to suggestions - drop us a line!

We moved (again), and did nothing for many months (minor tinkering doesn't count), and then, wouldn't you know it, someone suggests one teensy little change, and poof! A bunch of pages get updated!

Um...

Okay, so the biggest changes were to the links (Multiple grading companies!), and to the "look" of the front page (Now a lame imitation of the real ahem-Bay page!). Do y'like it? Does it make my rear look fat?

Meanwhile, there are likely to be more updates, but they'll only be noted here if they're, you know, like "major."

Half an Update is Better Than None...

We've moved (please update your bookmarks)! Can't believe it's been a year since the last update, and there's actually not a whole lot new this update... But I'll be updating again in the next month or two as the UPS rolls out new rates and a couple of stragglers get their submissions in (Zmulls? Rashka?). Here's what's up:

  • Moved the FAQ from GeoCities (hereafter referred to as "the Oppressive Overlords") to my own domain.
  • Did some minor graphical tweaks, including but not limited to updating the stars, removing the Stupid, Stupid Rat Creature from the Comics Board SOA, and changing the eBay logo to read "meBay" (just not comfortable with the old one, anymore).
  • Did a major updating of the "Misc-ing Links" section, but can't take all (or any) of the credit... Big thanks to TT for tracking down both new and outdated links!
  • Did some minor updating of various sections such as "Credits".
  • Completely eliminated "Our Petition". As always, eBay wasn't listening, and keeping it up served no purpose. Many thanks to the dozens and dozens of people who raised their voices in favor of making this unofficial FAQ official.
  • Added a new section called "Great Read!", which will have info on various titles and issues people might wanna check out. Unfortunately, however, getting this section together is proving to be more difficult than pulling teeth... eh heh
One final note: I've officially disbanded the Comics Board RingSurf NetRing. Just didn't have the time or energy to keep it going any longer. Many thanks to all who joined. You're great.

"See" you in a month or two!

In The News

Well, the new Overstreet comes out tomorrow, and--in anticipation of our potential inclusion (granted, only the slightest possibility... it was submitted months ago with no response)--I've done a mini-update. Hey FAQ You now includes new category information, Going Postal includes the latest on shipping rates, and whbjr's star has been changed to reflect his ever-increasing feedback! Thanks once again to all who've helped with this endeavor, as well as those who have contributed to such memorable board activities as the Comics Board Reunion, the infamous Mascot election, and our petition to remove Comics from "Pop Culture" and return it to its rightful place under Collectibles. See you tomorrow (and the next day, and...)!

What Have You Done For Me Lately?

Let's begin with the big news. First of all, we're celebrating the anniversary of our first year on the web! And they said it wouldn't last... We've gone through many changes during this relatively short period of time, not the least of which is this most current update. Secondly, after discussions with Shira Levine (eBay's comics category manager) in San Diego during the International Comic Con, the push is on to ask eBay to add links to the FAQ in the Comics Board header and on the Comics-O-Rama page. To help in this endeavor, please take a moment to "sign" Our Petition.

Speaking of the current update... It's without a doubt the most comprehensive overhaul yet. I've created new graphics, done some minor to major reformatting, added several new sections and updated virtually every old section, added META tags to each of the pages, targeted all links to new windows, and submitted the site to all the major search engines (and then some). PHEW! So if you find any syntax errors or busted links, please keep them to yourself for at least a week or two, okay? Now onto the specifics...

Main Page: Reproduction of the message input field with "Mini-HTML Tutorial", updated contents (incl. the addition of new sections and the removal of The Big Ape and Dos and Don'ts, both of which can now be found under Know-It-Alls), expanded disclaimer.

Hey FAQ You: New questions and answers regarding the CGC and buyer tips, new links added.

Grade 'n' Value: Completely new and comprehensive grade guide.

Misc-ing Links: New section with an exhaustive list of eBay and comics-related links.

Going Postal: New section with detailed information on the proper shipping and storage of comics.

OG Artwork: Major reformatting, still have some material to add (gotta have something to look forward to next update).

Our Petition: New section which includes the link to our pre-formatted email.

Post It Notes: Basic guidelines for posting images added.

Know-It-Alls: New section with articles on sniping, slabbing, pedigrees, and restoration.

Taking Credit: Updated to include new contributors.

A quick note on the format of the posts... They've all been set to the same date/time stamp (purely an aesthetic decision), and links to all but the individual posters' "me" pages have been removed. This was done to avoid even the semblance of business being conducted on this site (nobody's making dime one off this, people).

Well, that about wraps it up. Many thanks to all who've helped make this FAQ not only a reality, but a success. See you on the board!
