| What Have You Done For Me Lately?
Let's begin with the big news. First of all, we're celebrating the
anniversary of our first year on the web! And they said it wouldn't
last... We've gone through many changes during this relatively short
period of time, not the least of which is this most current update.
Secondly, after discussions with Shira Levine (eBay's comics category
manager) in San Diego during the International Comic Con, the push is on
to ask eBay to add links to the FAQ in the Comics Board header and on the
Comics-O-Rama page. To help in this endeavor, please take a moment to
"sign" Our Petition.
Speaking of the current update... It's without a doubt the most
comprehensive overhaul yet. I've created new graphics, done some minor to
major reformatting, added several new sections and updated virtually every
old section, added META tags to each of the pages, targeted all links
to new windows, and submitted the site to all the major search engines
(and then some). PHEW! So if you find any syntax errors or busted
links, please keep them to yourself for at least a week or two, okay?
Now onto the specifics...
Main Page: Reproduction of the message input field with "Mini-HTML
Tutorial", updated contents (incl. the addition of new sections and the
removal of The Big Ape and Dos and Don'ts, both of which
can now be found under Know-It-Alls), expanded disclaimer.
Hey FAQ You: New questions and answers regarding the CGC and
buyer tips, new links added.
Grade 'n' Value: Completely new and comprehensive grade guide.
Misc-ing Links: New section with an exhaustive list of eBay and
comics-related links.
Going Postal: New section with detailed information on the proper
shipping and storage of comics.
OG Artwork: Major reformatting, still have some material to add
(gotta have something to look forward to next update).
Our Petition: New section which includes the link to our
pre-formatted email.
Post It Notes: Basic guidelines for posting images added.
Know-It-Alls: New section with articles on sniping, slabbing,
pedigrees, and restoration.
Taking Credit: Updated to include new contributors.
A quick note on the format of the posts... They've all been set to the
same date/time stamp (purely an aesthetic decision), and links to all
but the individual posters' "me" pages have been removed. This was done
to avoid even the semblance of business being conducted on this site
(nobody's making dime one off this, people).
Well, that about wraps it up. Many thanks to all who've helped make
this FAQ not only a reality, but a success. See you on the board!
